As a U.S. based author, I often forget that most of the self-publishing infrastructures and companies are based in the U.S. or U.K. which means some of the most popular and most talked about platforms are not easy for people outside of those countries to navigate or even use.

So ACX, audiobook creation exchange, is the audiobook self-publishing platform from Amazon. Why they don’t merge KDP and ACX into one self-publishing hub… I don’t know. But until that day, they are separate.

From the ACX Website, these are the people who can sign up to self-publish their books on this platform:
Answer. ACX is currently open to individuals and companies resident in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Ireland who have a mailing address, valid local Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), and banking details for one of these countries. We hope to open up to a wider global audience in the future.

So if you aren’t in those four countries, how do you self-publish your audiobooks? Well, more direct platforms are adding this option such as Kobo and Apple Books for Authors. But if you want to get your audiobook to Amazon.com or Audible, or any other audiobook platforms like Audiobooks.com, Libro.FM, etc. then the best option for you is Findaway Voices. They can get your audiobook to all the above mentioned retailers and they make it super easy to upload and manage your books.
