International distribution for your self-published book is considered wide in the general sense of the term.
But wide distribution for your self-published book isn’t just about international distribution.
I’ve received this question a few times about self-publishing authors, usually based in the US or UK, asking about international distribution for their books and how to do that.
Pretty much every self-publishing platform has international distribution. As in, they can get your book in front of readers in the US, Canada, UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and even Asia.

Every platform.
When you self-publish to Amazon KDP your book is listed on all theri domains, including
US – United States
UK – United Kingdom
DE – Germany
FR – France
IT – Italy
ES – Spain
MX – Mexico
BR – Brazil
JP – Japan
NL – Netherlands
CA – Canada
IN – India
AU – Australia

Every other aggregator offers access to retailers in almost every region.

I set up an account with StreetLib back in 2018? 2019? Because of their focus on South America, Africa, Europe, and Asian market for self-publishing. But to date I’ve had the most international sales from Google Play Books and Findaway Voices.

Now, just because you publish in those countries doesn’t mean you’ll get sales. For starters, if you are only publishing in English, then you may still see most of your sales come from English-speaking countries.

So you can get international distribution even if you are an Amazon-only author. But you can get your book in front of even more readers if you are wide, publishing across multiple retailers, and international.
