So chances are you are here because you logged into your KDP bookshelf and saw one, or more, of your books with “continue set-up” or “unpublished changes” next to the book and now you’re panicking! Because you didn’t change anything! Is my book published??

So here is what LIKELY happened.

Have you gone in to the book listing to just look and see which categories you picked. Or what you set your price for in another territory?

Anytime you click to into your book, even to just check something, it will show that you have unpublished changes.

Even if you changed nothing.

Also, anytime you want to change anything. The book itself. Your cover. The description. The price. You have to hit “publish”. I wish it would just let you hit “save” because it would seem much easier. Also, you have to go all the way to page 3 to hit publish, you can’t just change the category on page one and hit save.

It’s annoying, but don’t panic. Just double check everything still looks good, hit publish, and proceed about your authorly day.
