So, in addition to being a book nerd and a volcano nerd, I’m a super nerd about the olympics. I love them. Summer. Winter. They’re all good to me. If you need me for the next two weeks, tough luck. I’m gonna be watching all the well-known AND obscure sports.

Because of this excitement, as well as the questions that I get on this channel, I thought it would be fun to do a Parade of Nations as it were. It’s one of my favorite moments from the olympics are the opening and closing ceremonies. All the athletes come together. Well, if self-publishing was a sport (sometimes it feels like a never-ending marathon), who would our delegates be?

I share my experience self-publishing on this channel. And, not surprisingly, that comes with advice specific to the U.S. audience, because that’s been my experience. I’ve never lived and published in any other country.

So, to answer questions I often get, like “but where do I get my ISBNs in I live in the UK?” or “but how do I get my audiobook onto Audible if I live in Europe?” I’m branching out and making new friends across the globe who will share their answers to the same standard set of questions. I’ll keep all the videos on one playlist so you can easily find your country to get the answers you need. Enjoy the series and let me know if you don’t see your country represented. As a reminder, if you live and self-publish in the US, watch my video on self-publishing for U.S. authors. I have videos from authors in England, Finland, Canada, Ireland, Belgium and more. For U.S. authors to get your books into those countries, you need to work with distributors who have relationships with retailers in those countries. You do not, and should not, get an ISBN, barcode, copyright registration, etc. for those countries. Your ISBN is an INTERNATIONAL standard book number. One number issued from Bowker in the US covers you globally.
