This is for non-fiction books only, and only non-fiction books in “select categories” which aren’t listed publicly.
You can’t apply to this, but Amazon only selects quality books for this that pass all QA measures. And you don’t have to be Amazon-Only for this program, none of my books are Amazon-Only and I’ve seen traditionally published wide books listed in this program as well.
Amazon doesn’t tell you when this launches, no idea when it will end either.

Well, one day, surprise-surprise, I checked Amazon and saw that one of my Author Your Ambition books had this designation. I was shocked, because of the books out with AYA, my Self-Publishing for the First-Time Author had been selling really well in the week leading up to this change. But it was still super exciting nonetheless.

How I tried to maximize this:
-Posted all over social media (instagram, twitter, goodreads)
-Launched an Amazon Advertising Campaign for this specific book right away using the automatic bidding feature.
-I posted in indie author threads and groups to get some advice. I think I got the most sales from this as friends wanted to support the book.

So overall, this wasn’t a huge slam dunk for my sales. Partially, I think it was the small small rebate on my inexpensive list price. I’d love to hear from you all about if your book has ever had this designation and how you were able to maximize it. Let’s keep the conversation going in the comments below.
