Today we’ll be talking about what happens when you order books directly from IngramSpark and they’re not … it’s not good.

This could be a total misprint, the wrong books in your order, books missing from your order, or any number of printing or shipping issues that break your heart. You were looking forward to the moment you could hold your books in your hand. Or you needed these books for an event and now you have no usable stock. Or not enough stock.

So today I’m going to show you exactly where you can file a claim.

At this point, you will confirm the books and the amount that needs to be replaced or credited. Then you will get a confirmation message that your claim has been received and you will hear something in 3-7 business days.

When I filed a claim back in September the team told me they were getting a high volume of claims and it could take a bit longer. Pack your patience. I know, I know. You’re frustrated, you are angry. You are spending your hard-earned money to get these book copies and may not have any book royalties yet. I totally get it, but remember the person handling your claim is a person and you always get more flies with sugar than vinegar. This happens. In my years of self-publishing with IngramSpark, so 2019 to now, I’ve had to submit a total of 3 claims for my own books.

2019 – the bootprint
2020 – missing Architects order
2022 – cover printing off

I’ve released and ordered a lot of books in that time.

Deep breath. Submit your claim and then move on to the next item on your author to-do list.
