I am a super goal-oriented person and I didn’t start 2021 with many solid goals. I knew my baby girl was top priority and that if I was able to do anything on my business it would be a plus. But as the year progressed, I felt that I was adrift. I needed more solid goals.

My husband and I do a business review every week. Usually, 20-30 minutes to go over what I accomplished the previous week to move my author business forward and the 5 things I would need to tackle in the upcoming week. These review sessions helped me move from my corporate job to working as a full-time solopreneur.

I’m pulling back the curtain a bit to show you this longer form business review session where we tackle the biggest challenges and opportunities facing my author business. I hope you can mirror the structure of this conversation with someone you trust, or just work through the thought exercises yourself.

What is the purpose of your business?
What are you currently working on in your business?
What are the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats to address?
What are you doing to work ON your business as opposed to working IN your business?
Can you learn from mistakes made this year? What wins do you anticipate?
