Hello Friends,
This is a special video letting you know about something I’ve begun to hint at in my videos and on social media, but I’m launching a membership.

This past year as a full-time mom and business owner has been amazing. But I’ve been spreading myself so thin trying to be there for every author who has questions because I never wanted to become the grumpy experienced author who shuts down or ignores new authors. I want to be there for you all. But, to be honest, my family comes first! So I had to think really critically on how I want to show up in a way that I can still help, but that doesn’t shortchange my family and reflects the value of my very scarce time.

Back in 2019 I thought that a membership could be a great way to cultivate this community. But I had no idea how to start one and what to include, what platforms to use to manage payments and discussion boards and ALL THE THINGS. It was overwhelming. Then this past year I realized I could add a channel membership on YouTube. I didn’t have the mental bandwidth to commit to it then, but having cleared off some big projects and pivoting my business again ahead of 2022, I am going to be starting the Author Your Ambition membership on YouTube. If it goes well and grows beyond what makes sense on YouTube I’ll move it off so more people can join, but 2022 this will be a YouTube Channel membership.

So, why be a member and what’s in it for you? After all, I show up here once or twice every week with videos. Do you need this membership?

No! You don’t need it. I’ll still show up with my regular weekly and irregular bonus videos.

But if you want to support this channel and help me grow and offer more, then yes, become a member.

There will be three levels:
Author level: This is $1.99 a month. This level is really to make you feel good about supporting my channel. You’ll get custom icons when you comment and know you are supporting me as a creator. It doesn’t seem like much but on a day when I have several comments to respond to, the icon lets me know who is a member and they’re going to get a response first.
Ambitious Author level: This is $4.99 a month. This level comes with those custom icons as well, but it also comes with a monthly masterclass that will only be available through the membership. These long-form videos will be on author business and marketing topics. The membership dues will pay for my time in scripting, recording, and editing these videos and to fund any experiments in marketing services that I’ll report back on.
Exceptional Author level: This is $9.99 a month. This level comes with everything in the first two levels as well as exclusive discounts on my digital books as merchandise.

This is just a start, I’m hoping to add more benefits in the future as I figure out what I can sustainably offer.
