Elements: Description, Reviews from other authors, Author image/bio/contact, BARCODE!!

You have a bit more real estate here, but you want to be judicious. This is really for people who pick up the book in the store or the library. But don’t sleep on this element. You want to have your book description, but maybe not the whole thing. What will hook your audience quickly?

Or do you have a lot of blurbs that you want to put there? There is no one right answer and if you have big-name authors giving you blurbs, USE THOSE!

I also like for the paperback to include the author photo if there is space as well as a short bio. Like super short. Like M.K. Williams has written almost a dozen books. Visit her website to learn more: 1mkwilliams.com

And of course, you need to leave room for a barcode.

So that’s a lot to balance. I don’t like it when book back covers are too crowded but they can’t look too sparse either. It’s a balance.
