Common Self-Publishing Abbreviations : Part 2 | Tips for New Authors Who Want to Self-Publish

Hi, I’m MK Williams, an author and independent publisher. I love sharing my insights about all things self-publishing with you. Before I get into the details about today’s topic, don’t forget to subscribe. You’ll be notified when I put out new videos every week about self-publishing and make a career out of being an author.

Way back in the day when I released my very first videos (you can go back and watch and cringe a little) I did one on self-publishing abbreviations. When you’re new to self-publishing you can quickly get lost in a sea of short-hand and abbreviations in different Facebook groups or threads. So here is another round of abbreviations, most of these are actually audiobook related, but not all. Here we go:
ACX – Audiobook Creation Exchange
AL: audiobook units bought by AudibleListener members using their membership credits
ALOP: audiobook units bought by AudibleListener members but not using their membership credits
ALC: audiobook units bought by customers not in an AudibleListener membership
WIP: Work in Progress
RH : Rights Holder

What are some other acronyms that are stumping you? Let me know in the comments below.
