Earlier this week ACX sent an email out to authors using the platform to self-publish their audiobooks to Audible. They stated that prices for audiobooks across the Audible platform will go down. This is good for the consumer, audiobooks are less expensive and the theory is they would buy more audiobooks because of a more competitive price. However, any sales on audiobooks for us authors will result in a lower royalty.
What do you think about this? Let’s keep the conversation going…
Higher volume at lower royalty surely should smooth out the authors profits, assuming their order numbers increase 🙂 Thanks for drawing attention to this
