As you can probably tell from the title of this video, I have another book coming out! And for those who read my very first book, Nailbiters, and have been asking me for the sequel since 2015, this is it! This is the follow-up to that story.

I feel weird about calling it a sequel. It’s part prequel, explaining how everything that happened in Nailbiters came to be. But it is a different storyline in the same world. Which might not be a surprise to those who read Nailbiters, because it wasn’t the happiest of endings. So, just like Nailbiters, trigger warnings everywhere.

Those of you who watched my NaNo vlog back last year, this is the book I was working on. So the plot was set in 2019. I went into developmental edits right away, going through my first internal draft, revisions, tightening things up. So the book went to my proofreader as the COVID-ish started going down in Mid-March. Getting the edits back from them were a little delayed with everything going on and then I did my final read aloud edit in June.

So I say all of this to say: I’m so sorry. Those who read this book will see that there are some very familiar themes of a global outbreak and then the civil unrest that follows. It was going to be really edgy and in your face and bet you never thought of this. And then 2020 happened so it seems like it is super unoriginal. But I promise, it was back in 2019.

And I’ve had some anxiety around releasing the book because of that. Like, too soon? But no, this is exactly the time to release this book and hopefully get people to think long and hard about the power we hand over to large organizations.
