I’ve seen this question a lot in different author forums so it seems there is a need for a very short, sweet, and direct answer. Without any further delay, let’s get into the answer:
When you are ordering your author copies or sending out copies of your book direct from IngramSpark you will notice on the order screen that there is a carton quantity. This lets you know how many books they could fit into one box. So if the quantity is 24, then you can order 1 book, 2 books, 24 books and it will all come in one box. If you order 25, you’re getting two boxes.

This is important for people to know if they are ordering their books to go direct to a conference center where authors may be limited by the weight and number of boxes. It can be important if you are ordering to an apartment building and you only have enough room in your mail room for a specific number of packages.

So if you only need 3 books, boom, type in the number 3. If you need 100, order 100. The carton quantity is for your information, not a required amount to be ordered.
